Well, the big news this month was Ruby's first haircut. It has been a lot easier to work with now that it's short. She loves it and I think she looks quite cute!
And here's Ruby in Grandma's new reading glasses...
The other highlight was (Great)Grandpa Dean's visit. We've been trying to get him to come for 5 years! It was so nice having him here. He read a lot of stories to Ruby and held Olive. Come again Grandpa!!!

March 2008

Here we have my two thumb-suckers! Ruby has sucked her thumb since she was 3 months old, but Olive, at 6 months, is just beginning to master this task. Shortly after they woke up this morning, I found them both sucking away, so I had to get a picture! So precious to me! (And notice Ruby's wild and crazy morning hair-do. It's a little hard to brush sometimes..."Mommy, please be gentle!" is a common phrase I hear - and I really do try to be gentle.)
Olive got a "house" for Christmas and is finally big enough to play in it. She just loves it (and big sister Ruby does too!)
Daddy and Olive are my two snuggle-bugs. Here they are, relaxing together on a lazy day.

Feelin' Better!

For the past few weeks we have been sick at our house. Both of the girls came down with RSV and needed breathing treatments. Then Ruby had some sort of infection (possibly walking pneumonia) and needed antibiotics. Finally, yesterday things started looking up. Look how happy we are:

With all of the sickness and cold weather, I've been watching a lot of the Little House on the Prairie dvd I got for Christmas. I guess that accounts for Ruby and I both wearing braids!
Anyway, we're soooo thankful to be feeling better!!!

Nov.-Dec. Happenings

We were so thrilled to be able to visit my new nephew, Liam Jeffrey. He is such a tiny, precious little guy! Olive was almost 2x his size. It made my little baby look not so much like a little baby anymore, although she's only 11 weeks old. Welcome Liam, to our family!
We put up our tree the day after Thanksgiving. Ruby then took most of the ornaments off and put them at the bottom of the tree. Oh well, she had fun!

Update on the Long's

Ruby is doing well - she's 2 years old and definately acts like a big girl. She loves to give us this goofy grin! She also loves to dance, read, sing, and play with her dolls. She tells me she is "the best big sister and helper" and I think she is too!

Olive is also doing well. She's 5 weeks old now and weighs 10 lbs. 1 ounce. =) She smiled for the first time today, which was so beautiful. She's got a head full of hair like her sister did, but it's not as crazy. We are truly blessed with these little ones!

Yikes, Have I been slack in updating this blog lately. So sorry. We've all been doing great. Let's see - Ruby got a new bike the other day - Jared just couldn't resist buying her one. She loves it but hasn't quite figured out the pedals yet. She also just started her new class at church - in the preschool wing instead of the nursery! I can't believe she's growing up so fast. Here are some pics of her on her bike and then of her in her new outfit for her first day in her new Sunday school class.
